Now defunct, the New York Americans, affectionately referred to as the Amerks, were a professional hockey team based in New York City founded in 1925. Although the Amerks were the first hockey team in NYC, they were quickly upstaged by the appearance of the New York Rangers team, which debuted in 1926. The Amerks were the
third expansion team in National Hockey League (NHL) history. During the 1941–42 season the teams’ named changed to the Brooklyn Americans. Unfortunately the pressures of World War II and a string of financial hard ships caused the team to cease in 1942. MITCHELL & NESS has revived the classic team with a two-tone 100% Wool snapback hat.
