They call Alabama The Prince of Tides, call me Deacon Blues. The University of Alabama’s football program is known as the Crimson Tide. The nickname is credited to Hugh Roberts, former sports editor of the Birmingham Age-Herald. The name was reference to an Alabama-Auburn game played in Birmingham in 1907. The battle took place in a sea of mud, but the “Thin Red Line”, as the football team was originally called, held off the heavily favored Auburn to a 6-6 tie. The crew was name dropped by Steely Dan’s, 1977 track Deacon Blues. Here is a vintage SIGNATURES Alabama Crimson Tide two tone snapback for our fans and alumni. Sold by SPORTS MAGICK
