The former WASHINGTON BULLETS originally started as the Chicago Packers before a series of moves and name changes ended up with the club as the Baltimore Bullets in 1963. In 1974 the team changed their name to the Washington Bullets. From their inaugural season till 1997 the Bullets won 3 Conference titles and one NBA Championship in 1978. In 1997, Bullets owner Abe Pollin changed the team’s name to the Wizards due to violent associations with the team’s name.
