COMMON UNION x NLB “KC Royals Ltd. Ed.” Strapback Cap

Posted by Capo, March 11th, 2013 09:03 am under Common Union

COMMON UNION pays tribute to Jackie Robinson by releasing a limited edition strapback cap. Of course this cap comes the same great quality you know and love from Common Union. The cap is a quality wool blend cap with a 3d Embroidery front logo with vintage cotton thread, and a leather strap with buckle for the closure. This cap will be included in their 5 to 42 throwback pack, which will include two strapbacks and a tribute edition Jackie Robinson throwback KC Monarchs jersey. The 5 to 42 pack is a commemorative collection that pays homage to Jackie Robinson and the KC Monarchs of 1945. In early 1945, while Robinson was at Sam Huston College, the Kansas City Monarchs sent him a written offer to play professional baseball in the Negro leagues. Robinson accepted a contract for $400 per month, which was a beneficial increase for him at the time. In all, Robinson played 47 games at shortstop for the Monarchs, hitting .387 with five home runs, and registering 13 stolen bases. He also appeared in the 1945 Negro League All-Star Game. The rest is history. Be on the look out for the 5 to 42 pack coming this spring. Until then don’t forget to check other vintage inspired snapbacks and strap back at
