Before the Purple and Gold, the Los Angeles Lakers franchise began in Minneapolis and featured Hall of Famer George Mikan at the center position – figuratively and literally. It brought a new breed of basketball which led to five NBA Championships in 1949, 1950, 1952, 1953 and 1954 paving the way towards the Lakers legacy we see today. Towards the end of their tenure in Minneapolis, the Lakers had picked players like Elgin Baylor and Jerry West during the drafts. In 1959, the Lakers finally moved to Los Angeles. This Snapback from Mitchell & Ness delivers the iconic Light Blue retro colorway of the Minneapolis Lakers done throughout the base. The MPLS team wordmark arch is embossed and raised in Yellow.
